Password Safe gave me the idea for the Java Applets below. Password Safe creates random passwords and stores them in a convenient list which is accessible with one "master password." It's very helpful, but I decided it would be a good way to brush up on Java. Please enjoy and find it very useful.
Libre Office is very compatible with Microsoft Office, but better because it's free of charge and open source, so you can legally examine the code, improve or extend it if you want, and make your work available to others without fear of corporate "intellectual property" lawyers punishing you for your good deeds. Would you buy a used car from a salesman who tries to prohibit you from changing your own spark plugs? Right, and that's exactly why I only use open source software on my computers.
Internet Hosted Programs
My Java Applets easily create strong passwords of any length you need. For whatever type of password required/allowed on the system you're using, choose one of these four programs for all standard password requirements. All four use the same random number generator, assigning the random numbers to different varieties of characters, so open the linked page then select one of the four Applets to create the type of password you want: numeric, alphabetic, alphanumeric, or strong, which adds punctuation and symbols to the alphanumeric pallette. "Strong" is recommended because it uses all standard ASCII characters, the characters that can be directly input on a typical keyboard. Those are also, not by coincidence, the characters allowed by most common programs for secure access.
